What is a peeling?
A peel is a cosmetic treatment that removes dead skin cells, accumulated sebum and impurities from the surface of the skin. In addition, it stimulates cell renewal, improves skin structure and ensures a fresh, radiant appearance. You can do a peeling yourself at home or have it done professionally by experts.
What variants are there?
There are different types of peels: mechanical peels, enzymatic peels and chemical peels. Mechanical peels use fine-grain particles or brushes to abrade the top layer of skin. Enzymatic peels use natural enzymes and chemical peels acids to gently remove dead cells from the skin.
Why should you exfoliate your skin?
Exfoliation can have many benefits for the skin. By removing dead skin cells, the skin's surface is smoothed, clogged pores are opened and cleansed and impurities are reduced. This also prevents new impurities. Exfoliating can also improve circulation, stimulate collagen production, and refine skin texture. It can help reduce acne, pigmentation, scars and fine lines. Additionally, exfoliation improves the absorption of skin care products by removing dead cells, making the skin more receptive to active ingredients.
Does a peeling suit every skin type?
Basically, every skin can benefit from a peeling. However, people with sensitive skin in particular should approach it carefully and prefer gentle enzyme peelings, as these irritate the skin less. A gentle peeling with PHA acids can also be used here.
Peels against impurities, skin shine and acne!
For oily skin, combination skin or people with acne, peeling products with salicylic acid and azelaic acid such as our BHA azelaic acid peeling are suitable. Salicylic acid helps reduce excess oil and clear clogged pores. Azelaic acid has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, which means it can help reduce skin blemishes such as acne. It can also inhibit the breakdown of excess melanin in the skin, which can lead to lightening of acne scars and hyperpigmentation.
Peelings as an anti-aging measure and for the perfect glow!
People with dry skin or mature skin are best off using AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) peels, like our AHA-PHA peel . The acids dissolve skin cells, but at the same time have the ability to lock in moisture in the skin. This is particularly beneficial for dry skin as it reduces the appearance of dryness, flaking and roughness. Due to the stimulating effect of AHAs on collagen production, they can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in mature skin. This leads to a visible tightening and improvement in the elasticity of the skin. Last but not least, AHAs can also help reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation. This is especially beneficial for people with uneven skin tone, sun damage, and pigmentation. People with normal skin should also use a peeling to remove dead skin cells. This leads to improved skin condition and a radiant complexion. This gives the skin the perfect glow!
How do I use a chemical peel?
We recommend using it twice a week, for example Sunday and Wednesday evenings.
First step: Before you use the peeling you need to prepare your skin. Cleanse your face thoroughly with a gentle cleanser e.g. our cleansing gel or cleansing milk to remove dirt and oil.
Step Two: Apply the chemical peel gently with your fingertips or a cotton pad. Avoid the eye and lip area.
Third step: After 15 minutes, you can gently wash off the peeling with lukewarm water (optional and recommended for sensitive skin) or use your serum or cream directly over it. Use a soothing moisturizer without retinol. If your skin care contains retinol, you should leave it out that evening. Avoid strong sunlight after the peeling and be sure to apply sunscreen.
