What is skin cycling?

Skin cycling is an increasingly popular term in skincare. It's a method of applying different skincare products cyclically over several days. The goal is to avoid overloading the skin while getting the most out of each product.

Developed by dermatologists, skin cycling is the answer to the problem of skin over-treatment. People often use too many products at once or in rapid succession, which can cause irritation and intolerance. Skin cycling creates a structured routine that allows the skin time to recover and promotes optimal use of each product.

How does skin cycling work?

A typical skin cycling cycle lasts four days.

Day 1: Exfoliation - Application of a chemical peel to remove dead skin cells and promote skin renewal.

Day 2: Retinol - Use a retinol product that helps with collagen production and reduces fine lines and dark spots.

Days 3 and 4: Recovery - On these days, the skin is soothed and moisturized. Products containing hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides are ideal. After day 4, the cycle starts again.

Benefits of skin cycling

Regular breaks allow the skin to recover, reducing the likelihood of irritation and hypersensitivity. Targeted application of each product allows its full effect to unfold. Skin cycling also provides a clear structure that makes it easier to maintain a consistent skincare routine.
